Date : Wednesday, November 11, 2009 Thousand apologies for the lack of updates readers. Have been working my ass off on weekdays doing full shifts; 8.30am-6.30pm. Once I'm back from work will meet up with boyfriend for short dinner or chat, head home and knocked out on my bed. That's my mundane routine for the days and weekends occupied by karaoke with family over at elder sister's place. Hahs. Such a no lifer it seems. This simply an order by my mother who keeps nagging into my ears to keep working hard for those dollars for our Malaysia trip on Christmas. Yeabah! Another holiday getaway with the family, I'm loving it! Takpe, susah-susah dulu, senang-senang kemudian. *wide smile* Ok, I'm so worn out with my little shopping spree earlier at Vivo City. It was always a beautiful moment spent with boyfriend. I couldnt probably do without him in choosing apparels or shoes for some occasions. All those efforts and advices are totally appreciated boyfriend. Thank you dear. *kiss* Sorry for the short update readers. I'll try to keep this blog alive as possible. Goodnight earthlings! On sugar
Date : Tuesday, November 03, 2009 The passengers on the bus watched sympathetically as the attractive young woman with the white cane made her way carefully up the steps. She paid the driver and, using her hands to feel the location of the seats, walked down the aisle and found the seat he'd told her was empty. Then she settled in, placed her briefcase on her lap and rested her cane against her leg. It had been a year since Susan, 34, became blind. Due to a medical misdiagnosis she had been rendered sightless, and she was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness, anger, frustration and self-pity. And all she had to cling to was her husband, Mark. Mark was an Air Force officer and he loved Susan with all his heart. When she first lost her sight, he watched her sink into despair and was determined to help his wife gain the strength and confidence she needed to become independent again. Finally, Susan felt ready to return to her job, but how would she get there? She used to take the bus, but was now too frightened to get around the city by herself. Mark volunteered to drive her to work each day, even though they worked at opposite ends of the city. At first, this comforted Susan, and fulfilled Mark's need to protect his sightless wife who was so insecure about performing the slightest task. Soon, however, Mark realized the arrangement wasn't working. Susan is going to have to start taking the bus again, he admitted to himself. But she was still so fragile, so angry - how would she react? Just as he predicted, Susan was horrified at the idea of taking the bus again. "I'm blind!", she responded bitterly. "How am I supposed to know where I am going? I feel like you're abandoning me." Mark's heart broke to hear these words, but he knew what had to be done. He promised Susan that each morning and evening he would ride the bus with her, for as long as it took, until she got the hang of it. And that is exactly what happened. For two solid weeks, Mark, military uniform and all, accompanied Susan to and from work each day. He taught her how to rely on her other senses, specifically her hearing, to determine where she was and how to adapt to her new environment. He helped her befriend the bus drivers who could watch out for her, and save her a seat. Finally, Susan decided that she was ready to try the trip on her own. Monday morning arrived, and before she left, she threw her arms around Mark, her temporary bus-riding companion, her husband, and her best friend. Her eyes filled with tears of gratitude for his loyalty, his patience, And his love. She said good-bye, and for the first time, they went their separate ways. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday... Each day on her own went perfectly, and Susan had never felt better. She was doing it! She was going to work all by herself. On Friday morning, Susan took the bus to work as usual. As she was paying the fare to exit the bus, the driver said, "Boy, I sure do envy you." Susan wasn't sure if the driver was speaking to her or not. After all, who on earth would ever envy a blind woman who had struggled just to find the courage to live for the past year? Curious, she asked the driver, "Why do you say that you envy me?" The driver responded, "It must feel good to be taken care of and protected like you are." Susan had no idea what the driver was talking about, and again asked, "What do you mean?" The driver answered, "You know, every morning for the past week, a fine-looking gentleman in a military uniform has been standing across the corner watching you as you get off the bus. He makes sure you cross the street safely and he watches until you enter your office building. Then he blows you a kiss, gives you a little salute and walks away. You are one lucky lady." Tears of happiness poured down Susan's cheeks. For although she couldn't physically see him, she had always felt Mark's presence. She was lucky, so lucky, for he had given her a gift more powerful than sight, a gift she didn't need to see to believe - the gift of love that can bring light where there is darkness. Imagine to be in Susan's shoes when she's blind; blind about love, life and trust. But to have such husband as Mark for support and comfort was a beautiful gift on earth. I was Susan and having him as part of my life now, my gift of love, is some thing that I'd thank Him countless times. Love may not always be define or expressed by words, a simple gesture of care and concern beautifies the world in your eyes, eventhough they're blind. Happy 46th monthsary sweetheart. *hugs&kisses* A gift of love
Date : Sunday, October 25, 2009 Thank god, finally exam's over and next pit will be career focus. Recently have been job searching through online and submitting resumes to some of the organisations which I'm interested in. But I realised that most of the job scopes involved customer service. It could be a plus points for me to score in but not a better chance to experience new skills and different work concept. But whatever it is jobs dont come rolling to your feet and I shouldnt be too picky or stuffs. Times are bad and though I'll get a permanent job which is within my comfort zone yet again I'll be willing to accept it. No harm trying huh? Ok, let's just stay positive. *smile* The past days in workplace has been terribly witty with jokes and laughters with the colleagues. Couldnt have imagined if this chances will be there for me again when I'm in different organisations in future. Truthfully it will sadden me to leave them bunch of crazy peeps. Missing from counters to get vending machine drinks from upper level, disturbing the managers when seeing their frowns are getting curvier downwards, disturbing and gossipping in Facebook, always be the first for any free meals and of course, be the one who finished up their junk foods in the end. Hahs. Incredibly awesome. Speaking of food. Friday had lunch date with Azlin, a colleague of mine. Azlin and me had nasi padang and nasi ayam respectively and after meal we will usually hang out at pantry chatting away. Then came along a pizza delivery ordered by our boss of the new flavour, Twist n Dunk. We and some guys had persistently stayed reluctant to try them when boss offered. However, when she left after taking a piece of pizza and few munchies, we began conquering the place trying on them. Can you believe this? Hahs. One of the guys whom supposed to rush down for school cant resist his temptations and came back for another round of quick lunch after his nasi padang meal. *laughs* On Saturdays will be the only day when all the part timers work together and these youngsters wont get any hang of serious work. We will constantly have Bingo games among us when crowds subsided an hour to end time. And yesterday was the most hilarious end day jokes among us. As usual, after bingo games we will chat through the afternoon with loads of craps and jokes which left all of us laughing to ourselves at individual's counter. The first time in history tried playing this game introduced from the movie 500 Days of Summer. Ok, the game goes like this. The first person shouts 'penis' followed by the next one whom need to shout it out louder then the previous. And it continues on and on to the following person and the games goes in circle till the last person shouted it the loudest of all. So, we tried this after done with day end closing and instead of 'penis', we changed to 'breast'. Hey, we're still in the office ok so have to use something more appropriate. Hahs. There're four of us and the ladies started saying it out one by one in increasing voice tone. Leaving this poor boy all lost with the sudden shoutout from us and made him shouted it the loudest of all. He did it, as loud as he can AND repeating them for 5 times! Imagine that situation with all of us, well 90% ladies laughing our guts off and the most pleasant part was, there's still one more customer left at the counter. Mind you, even if he's at the counter, it is possible for him to hear the shoutouts and laughters from the office. OMG! We just couldnt care and blast it with more laughters and jokes. Hahs. The superb way to unwind after a long day at work on Saturday! *winks* Lovely people |
